Out Of Touch

30 Jun

Recently, I feel like living in my own sphere. Completely out of touch with the world.

One of the reason is I just got back from a long trip and I have a million things lying on my desk screaming for attention and solutions. And on top of that I have a thousand new ideas and dreams to be conceptualized into splendid proposals and to be realized.

I dive into my work and so eagerly and determined to finish it at the soonest (which is impossible cos’ everyone knows works never end). And I completely shut myself away from any social event or sometimes even avoiding having long conversation with people. I notice I tend to give body signal to whoever passing me by:

I AM BUSY, DO NOT DISTURB.

I am truly sorry if I didn’t wave back or greet you as I normally would. I need to stay focus in order to finish my task fast! I think I become a mad woman when I am completely into my work :D

So, my dear family and friends (and husband…), very soon I’ll be available for coffee, tea, dance, movies etc… I guess at the moment I can only use this blog as a platform for me to share my life with you now, while attending to a gazillion things to do. Which includes laundry and housekeeping as I have been out of duty for such long period (oh no…) send clothes to dry clean and wash my bags… And when I have little free time and when I don’t feel like working, I’ll play with the latest app I’ve downloaded in my Blackberry phone => BibbyCam. (Look at all the nice fancy picture Iphone apps can do. It makes me so envious…) And this BibbyCam is great, it smoothens skin, and have a dozen of filters to switch from :) I certainly save a lot of time doing photoshop!

Life’s busy but I still feel like I’m living a dream!

I picture myself doing it all~ working with fabulous people, living interesting social life, be professional in my field, the perfect wardrobe, be a pretty loving wife, and a beautifully decorated (well-maintained) home! I am experiencing God’s blessings and miracles everyday. It feels like I can reach up and rearrange the stars :)

Till we meet again, have a good weekend everyone :)

WELCOME To The Club!

27 Jun

One of my bestest friend Joanne got married last weekend to her handsome sweetheart :)

It was a joyful event filled with so much love! Ever since she announced her wedding date, I would message her from time to time to follow up on her wedding preparation. Joanne is a girl who is very specific on what she wants for her wedding. She is a bride who knows exactly what she likes. Which is a great cos’ in that case she won’t have to ask around for opinions and listen to what her friends and family say. However, it landed her in a situation where she has to take care of every little details all on her own! Imagine design and decorating new room, contact wedding vendors, arrange for ceremony activities, shopping for all wedding stuffs and with very limited help! And while doing all these, she needs to maintain good figure and nice skin condition. I salute to her. Things can be extra difficult for bride who knows exactly what she wants.

Imagine she might be going a little crazy with everything that has to be done, I text her and offer her my help on her wedding day. And when she said she needed someone to set up the photo corner for her, I quickly volunteered :) I was so excited to be part of her day.

Heading the venue with my DIY gift box :)

It really gave me a sense of belonging to this moment in their lives. A few of us arrived earlier to help to create different pieces of it, which, I think was exactly the effect that the bride wanted to have.

Deciding what to do with the photo corner :)

Going through the guest list with the girls :)

And the pre-dinner cocktail begins!

Lovely bride in her purple floor-length dress :)

Let’s go get some oysters to eat while telling the guests where they will be seated :)

Ask any girl about her fantasy wedding and you’ll get fantastic ideas and rose-colored dreams of lacy bridal gowns, fabulous wedding cakes, and of course, the handsome groom. The bride floats down the aisle in gossamer and silk. She is as radiant and as pretty as the freshest bloom. The groom looks crisp and nutty in his tuxedo. Nobody can suspect they went through hell and back with the wedding preparations. Behind the fairy tale scene, it’s a lot of work, emotions and preparations.

I’ve been a bride myself and I know it well. Getting help from friends on very small things can make a big difference between going crazy or having a great wedding planning experience :) And on the other hand, getting rejected by your friends to help on your wedding day definitely hurt a lot…

Wedding is our high school reunion in disguise :)

Someday you will have a friend that is getting married if you have not already. When this time comes you will want to help them in any way that you can. A bride has a checklist of items that she has to get done before the wedding that is as long as her arm. So instead of getting mad because she is ditching on girls night for the 10th time, ask what you can do to help so you can still spend time together.

To Mr. & Mrs Chan,

May God bless both of you and bless your marriage for many, many, many years to come :)

Oh ya, and have fun in Italy!!!

XOXO

Amazing 24 Hours In Las Vegas

22 Jun

Oh Yeah! It’s Friday!!!

And I think it’s the best time to tell a little story about my 24-hour-Vegas-experience :)

This is a lengthy post with lots of pictures! Here we GO!

Catch the earliest flight to Vegas from San Francisco. (Part of my Sweet Escape Route) Oh, I can hardly open my eyes…

And this is the sort of scenery you’ll see out of the window…

I was so super sleepy, but the bride-to-be sitting next to us and her Bachelorette Party gang was sooo hyper. They kept cheering and spoke in excitements. Then I thought, maybe it would be super fun to have a bachelorette party in Vegas~ Can I have a second one?

Breathtaking isn’t it?

And we we arrived, woah~ we were stepping right into a casino!

No kidding. This is the Vegas airport!

And the first thing we did, lost in Ethel M Chocolate boutique in the airport!

Besides having my initial “E” sticker on the packaging; the chocolate tastes like heaven! Next time when you are in Vegas, I would recommend you to get some before you start all the fun :) Caramel crunch is my favourite!

Hello Las Vegas!

In my bag was a scroll of world map to mark our Round-The-Globe tour :)

Then we arrived our lovely hotel: The Venetian

We have been to the one in Macau. They look equally impressive and exquisite :)

I instantly felt so elegant… Keke…

And our little suite \(“O)/

Still a little bit dreamy, I told myself this is too good to be true…

Every details is so beautiful and delicate… I feel like I am living a high-roller dream…

So after a short nap, I showered and put on my “Vegas look” :)

Super short hot pink skirt and flamboyant eyelashes~

And after our late lunch, I decided this look is definitely not for me. THE EYELASHES WERE SO HEAVY, I CAN HARDLY OPEN MY EYES AND SEE ANYTHING! Salute to those who can…

Over a cup of coffee, I quickly switched back to sweet-demure-Eryn-look :)

Magificent hallway!

Let’s start rolling!

The water reminds me of beautiful Bora Bora~

Random people on the street will kindly offer us to take a picture for us. And we sort of return the favor everytime when we see couples and offer them to snap a picture for them too :)

I felt so blessed to have worn a pair of sparkling flats… Heels will certainly kill me here.

And we had a game or two until the sun set. Nightfall is when the City of Light shines.

We walked hand in hand on the hotel strip and amazed by this dynamic city full of people, energy and everything nice and expensive.

I got compliments from strangers on the street on my dress. Which made me very happy and glad that I did not come out with the pink mini skirt and heels. So, point to think about:

Suitability (short skirt and sky high heels in Vegas) and comfort (one shoulder draped long dress and flats) really depends on which one you can carry better :)

Watched the musical fountain in front of Bellagio!

You will be mesmerized as the water takes on a life all it’s own and dances in perfect synchronization to broadway favorites and opera and everything else in between. Best of all this show is FREE.

We had our buffet dinner before catching a 10:00p.m. show:

O by Cirque du Soleil at Bellagio.

Cirque du Soleil® weaves an aquatic tapestry of artistry, surrealism and theatrical romance in the timeless production, “O™.” The international cast of world-class acrobats, synchronized swimmers, divers and characters perform in, on, and above water to create a breathtaking experience in a magnificent theatre reminiscent of a European opera house.

If you happened to be in Las Vegas, make sure you catch a show. There are hundreds of different shows going on in different hotels, you’ll definitely find one that you enjoy :)

Hotel Paris.

Gaming is definitely part of the classic experience in Vegas.

I must say the Goddess of Fortune was not with me that night…

After a few rounds of pokers, we found this beautiful little lounge Le Cabaret with live entertainment and nice specialty drinks.

After one too many cocktails… We realized it’s 4:00 a.m. in the morning…

I sang and danced our way back to our lovely suite.

24 hours is too short to see the fabulous Las Vegas.

Unashamedly bright, bold and brassy, Las Vegas is designed to create a cocoon in which you’re wrapped in your own fantasy world. It’s an experience of conjuring exotic destinations, mystery and romance. In 24 hours, I reinvented myself, lose all sense of time and get swept away in the sheer, unbridled, outrageous extravagance of it all!

Till the wake up call rang in 6:00a.m., I was completely indulge in this magical colourful dreamy fantasy~
