How Can Eyelash Extension Change Your Look?

One fine Sunday afternoon, I have made up my mind to try “eyelash extension” for the first time in my life!!

Well, if you ask me why, I would say because I wanna glam up my sleep-deprived eyes and also shorten time to make up every morning… With the a big baby belly now, I think I have the perfect excuse to do whatever I want :D

So, here’s a picture of myself without mascara…

Not too bad right? Hehe…

As this is my first time, I had so much questions on my mind! The beautician carefully explained the procedure and went through different styles with me and after a brief consultation, she placed me on a comfortable bed and getting started to do what she called a “3D Korean eyelash extension“<— sounds cool right?

First of all, my eye make up was removed and a tape was placed at the lower eye lid to prevent the lower eyelashes from being glued~

And then a combo of thick and thin lashes was individually glued on my real lashes. The glue made my eyes feel uncomfortable for a while and as soon as it’s dried up, the tingling sensation vanished.

So, here’s a glance of how it looks like!!

(My real lashes on the right look so pathetically short…)

The whole session lasted for about 45 minutes and when the beautician handed me a mirror to check on the results, I was like… Wow~

It reminds me of my flamboyant lashes I wore in Vegas! (So fake…) I reckon I should put on something less dramatic next time… :)

What do you think? It certainly does make my eyes appear bigger though…

However, before considering getting yourself one (which I think every girl should at least try once), here’s the down side of it:

- You basically can’t wear glasses cos’ your eyelash extension tends to press on the glass and it looks so funny~

- You can’t rub your eyes, it irritates your eyes and you might accidentally pull a few off together with your real lashes (“o)

- You can’t wet your eyelash extension, yes, cannot wet them!

- You can’t let moisture-rich products to get into the fake lashes. Shampoo, conditioner, heavy creams or anything oil based will eventually loosen the bond.

Well, then you might ask, how to clean the face if can’t get it wet?? I struggle with this too! I remembered the first night I was attempting to used a cotton bud with some makeup removal oil to remove my eye makeup on the upper eye lid and it didn’t work! I then use a cotton with some water to clean it and the cotton strands caught in the lashes and at the end of the “makeup removal” session, my lashes looked like a complete mess and it irritated my eyes too!

Then the second day, I came up with a brilliant idea!

Makeup Removal Wet Tissue!!!

imageThen I thought, how come I never thought of it at the first place? I got this Biore makeup removal tissues from Guardian. It’s so convenient! I just pull a sheet out from the bag and wipe my upper eyelid and lower eyelid (if I apply lower eye liner that day) and it’s cleaned!

It may sound troublesome and high maintenance, but with this new lash extension on, I basically do not need any eye makeup on! It saves me a lot of time everyday drawing eye lines and putting on eye shadow.

Well now you know what you will be getting into :)  Anyone of you thinking of getting eyelash extensions? Or you have already done that? Share with me about your experience!

Thank you so much for reading and have a beautiful beautiful day!

How To Be More Photogenic?

15 Oct

I have been receiving compliments on my make up on my birthday and some said I am “photogenic”! (Wow~)

Today I wanna share with you a new technique that I have recently becoming “brave enough” to try on:

Contouring~

Contouring uses highlight and shadows to create different depths on the face, such as making your eyes bigger, face smaller, nose smaller and pointier :)

I am still not sure if I should show this picture of mine :D

Here I used highlights on my brow bones, under the eyes and down the center of the nose.

And shadows on the side of the nose (to make it appear smaller), below the cheekbone :)

Then I blend them nicely so that it appears to be natural. I then top it with minimal loose powder.

I notice that the effects come out to be more obvious when pictures’ taken using a camera. It appears to be really “normal” in real life when people look at you with naked eyes…

Always remember that the ultimate accessory to be photogenic is confidence.

Under the hard focus of the lens, it’s easy to let your insecurities bubble to the surface.

People tend to show tension across their brow and mouth. An easy way to relax these muscles is to smile real wide and release, then raise your brows nice and high and release. ~Lathrop

Hope you enjoy my little secret to be more “photogenic” :)

Have a happy Monday everyone!

Good Morning!

28 May

How good it is to wake up to this beautiful dressing table that is full of my favourite stuffs :)

While reminiscing all the sweet dreams, be inspired to try on new colour combinations on face.

Although sometimes it might look funny :)

The best way to start a day…

Is to give thanks to God and put on ribbons and a smile…

After all, I am just a woman.

I am happy when I feel pretty.

Have a Happy Monday everyone!! XOXO
