MAIO Italian Restaurant {JB Best Kept Secret}

11 Jun

Nowadays, I really treasure time with friends, especially with Dr. Jamaline! And today we decided to meet up for Sunday brunch at this rather secluded Italian restaurant MAIO located in M-suite hotel Johor Bahru.

MAIO is truly a hidden gem. We were glad that we were the only customers in the afternoon. It made us feel so exclusively important and we can have girl’s talk in complete privacy 🙂

We were waited by a very professional, approachable and outspoken staff. Which is, I must say very rare in JB. He carries himself very confidently, which made us feel that we have nothing to worry about being served good.

I was impressed by this tropical, almost primitive, greenery out of the glass window. What a good way to start a day…

Of course, with this kind of setting, it’s a bit pricey in JB’s context.  A cup of cafe latte cost RM8.00 and  affogato topped with Haagen-Dazs vanilla ice-cream costs RM18.00.

Maio Pizza (RM32.00) A thin crust pizza with chicken thigh and pineapple.

Grilled Salmon (RM65.00). It has a beautiful name in Italian but I totally forgot about it 😉 I like the freshness of the fish and the quality ingredients that they used to prepare the dish.

We had a great time sharing stories of our recent adventures and gossips about the others. Keke…

Eryn’s a happy girl!

And over a cup of peppermint tea, we discussed about shapes and style of stones and dreaming on the perfect princess-cut engagement ring 🙂

And oh, the delicious dessert… Tiramisu (RM18.00)!

It was really good to see her all dressed up and smile when talking about her new posting.

It took me a while to come up with this “sweet rock” look 🙂 With my black clutch and pumps.

This place it is behind of M-Suites Hotel:
