Final Victory

9 Nov

If you have noticed about the lack of post lately, it’s not because I’m busy, but I am not really in a mood to write anything. A beloved sister in Christ, Caroline passed away recently after battling with lung cancer for years. She was the bravest woman I’ve ever come to know. She’s capable, beautiful and with a will of steel.

I remembered at the wake service, I held Yee Kim’s hand and started weeping, I said to her that I have been thinking for a long time and at the end I still couldn’t reason why. Why she was taken away after such a long painful struggle? She went through 2 courses of gene therapy and completed the full cycle of chemotherapy, we prayed for her everyday continuously, day and night. She did it so bravely and had demonstrated good faith and trust completely in the Lord… I just don’t understand why…

Yee Kim then said to me, Eryn, we are all God’s creation; and how could the creation knows what the Creator has in mind? There are a lot of things on earth which we couldn’t understand and will never understand…

Carol was a true entrepreneur, a philanthropist and a woman who signified beauty and courage. I remembered when Kelvin just got back from Melbourne, we shared with Carol that he was about to start his own farming business but he needed more technical advise on planting and growing. Carol quickly called up one of her professor who majors in that related field and she set up a meeting at her home and invited us over to discuss in depth on techniques to grow and plant organically… We were so grateful that she kindly offered her help to us when we were in need. We have learnt so much that night and will never forget her kindness and warm hospitality.

I still remembered how we party together during her company 25th anniversary Back-To-School party! In conjunction with the celebration, she invited all her close friends, staffs and business associates to celebrate with her. Kelvin and I purposely planned our honeymoon around it so that we all can come together that night~!

The party was awesome and we had so much fun!

Thank you Carol, for having us in your life and we will be forever grateful that:

That year, we were so fortunate to be in the same “class”…

1 Corinthians 15

35 But someone will say, “How are the dead raised up? And with what body do they come?”36 Foolish one, what you sow is not made alive unless it dies. 37 And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be, but mere grain—perhaps wheat or some other grain. 38 But God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body.

No matter what body He has given you, I believe it would be something beautiful and glorifies His name. I thank God for your beautiful life that had touched so many lives. Dear sister, you will always be remembered.

A sad and beautiful story. Hard to understand losing someone so young. All we can do is remember their friendship with words and memory. I’m sorry for your loss.
