Nowadays, I struggle more with productivity because my body doesn’t allow me to work long hour anymore. Therefore, I need to find new ways to improve efficiency and finish things up in limited time.
Relax: I spent more time than usual waking up in the morning, have a slow nice breakfast before starting my day. It makes me feel so refresh and in control of my life.
Limit Distractions: I normally don’t switch on my computer first thing when I reach my desk. I’ll focus on doing things on my to-do and check my mails at about 11:00am. I find it hard to concentrate on one thing when there are mails keep coming in screaming for attention.
Write it Down: I’ll break complex task into small steps and write it down on paper. In that case, I just have to follow the steps one by one and it’ll be done without stress.
Do It Now: In order not to have too much things on my to-do list, for things that can be done in minutes, I will do it right then. If I need to make a phone call to negotiate the price, I’ll do it now. If I need to confirm an appointment, I’ll do it now. If I need to send an email, I’ll do it now. In that case, I can free myself from having so many undone items on my notebook and get things done faster.
Take A Break: I believe sufficient rest for your mind is very important in improving productivity. I normally make myself hot chocolate and munch on wheat biscuits and talk to Kelvin for 5 minutes 🙂
Off Work On Time: Why is this important? Because when I know I need to leave office on time, I’ll have the motivation to pace up a little and not wasting time on unimportant things. Besides that, getting off work on time gives me more social and personal time!
At the end of the day, I’d like to encourage myself with this:
Do what you love and love what you do.
Here, some inspiration for your lovely Monday 🙂
