And this time of the year is also full of festivities and weddings!! Kelvin and I have had a record of attending 9 weddings in both November and December! It was super awesome to be part of so many celebrations, if there’s one thing that troubles me, that would be:
What To Wear?
So I have drafted a guideline on wedding attire.
1. Dress Code
Normally the dress code would be printed on the invitation card.
- Formal (floor length) evening gown
- Dressy cocktail dress
- Short tea dress or cocktail dress
- A “little black dress”
- Long dressy skirt and top
- Dressy separates
- Skirt and dressy top
- Dressy pants outfit
- Nice jeans and dressy top
Sometimes the host might want the guests to dress to match certain colour or theme. So the first thing you do is to read the invitation and make sure you understand what is required of you.
If it’s outdoor, make sure you wear dresses and shoes that allows you to walk comfortably. I personally like to wear knee-length dress if it’s gonna be a outdoor party. Choose your shoes wisely to prevent your Christian Laboutin kept sinking into mud, grass or sandy beach.
If it’s indoor, I would normally go for floor length and more classy design.
What you wear reflects your fashion sense and your personality. Try not to wear something that is just ‘not you’. Do not wear any outfits that makes you feel uneasy or doesn’t suit your image (or profession).
It’s the perfect excuse to dress up, taste good food, reconnect with family and friends and celebrate the union of two person that truly love each other.
Attending wedding are like reminders of romance in my life. Besides being happy for the couple that is getting married; to me, watching a wedding in person really reminds me of the romance in my own life. The anxiousness, the steps down the aisle, the complicated emotions and circumstances, all reminds me that love is the core value of romance. Watching two loving people pledge their love reminds me of the importance of romance in my life and how it has brought me a more meaningful life.
It’s the season of love! No matter where you are, and whether you are attending wedding or preparing your own wedding, I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart. May God bless you and to those that are getting married, I wish you a happy and joyful married life!
Thank you so much for reading.
